Kevin Trapani, CEO of The Redwoods Group, will share business insights and career advice with students.
Kevin Trapani, CEO and co-founder of The Redwoods Group, joins the Martha and Spencer Love School of Business this fall as an executive-in-residence.
Trapani will share career insights with business students, focusing on how businesses can and must be a powerful force for bringing about positive social change.
“I am delighted to welcome Kevin Trapani as Executive-in-Residence to the Love School of Business,” said Raghu Tadepalli, dean of the Love School of Business. “Kevin’s strong commitment that business has to work for the greater good is reflected in the LSB’s strategic plan. Kevin will help us get the message to our students through his guest lectures and mentoring of students.”
Redwoods, a Certified B Corporation, is dedicated to insuring and protecting YMCAs, resident camps, Jewish Community Centers, Boys and Girls Clubs and overnight camps all over the country. The organization’s honors from B-Lab include “Best Overall,” “Best for Community” and “Best for Worker Impact.”
Prior to forming Redwoods in 1997, Trapani was executive vice president of Burlington Insurance Group; senior vice president and chief underwriting officer at Coregis Insurance Group; held senior leadership positions at Great American Insurance Companies and the Chubb Group of Insurance Companies; and started the first statewide HMO in New Jersey.
Named one of the 50 most influential leaders in North Carolina, Trapani serves on the boards for the Doherty Center for Creativity, Innovation and Entrepreneurship, United Way of the Greater Triangle, Duke University’s Center for the Advancement of Social Entrepreneurship, Mary Reynolds Babcock Foundation and UNC’s Center for International Understanding.
