Lauren Saul Carriker has been named assistant director of the law school's Office of Admissions while Haley Mendola L'18 joins the Office of Academic Success as an academic and bar support specialist.
Elon Law has welcomed two new staff members in recent weeks as it begins its 15th anniversary year of educating future lawyer leaders.
Lauren Saul Carriker joins the Elon Law community as assistant director for the Office of Admissions while Haley Mendola L’18 returns to her law school alma mater as an academic and bar support specialist in the Office of Academic Success.
Carriker’s arrival coincides with record enrollment at Elon Law. One hundred and seventy-one students matriculated in August with the Class of 2023, making it the largest in program history. Elon Law now enrolls 430 students between all three classes – another record for Elon University’s downtown Greensboro campus.
Mendola enhances an office that has been a key driver of success on the bar exam for recent graduates. Elon Law expects to report this winter to the American Bar Association an ultimate bar pass rate of nearly 90% for the Class of 2019.
About the New Staff Members
Lauren Saul Carriker
Carriker brings to Elon Law over a decade of experience in undergraduate and graduate admissions at Guilford College and High Point University, respectively. Most recently she served as operations manager in High Point’s graduate admissions office, where she coordinated a recruitment schedule, reviewed applicant pools for various graduate and professional programs, maintained enrollment data, and coordinated interview days and other events.
Carriker has been active in the Triad community, serving from 2013 to 2019 as a member of the SynerG Young Professionals Council.
She received her undergraduate degree in international studies from the University of Alabama and her MBA from the University of Saint Mary in Kansas.
“I am honored to join the Elon Law admissions team to continue the impressive growth of the law school while admitting highly qualified candidates,” Carriker said. “I’m excited to use my background in higher education recruitment to position the program for further visibility. Faculty, staff and students have been so positive and welcoming.”
Haley N. Mendola L’18
In her new role as an academic and bar support specialist, Mendola teaches Introduction to Legal Studies and Mastering Legal Analysis, along with meeting students individually to foster their professional and academic success.
Prior to teaching at Elon Law, Mendola practiced law in Washington, D.C., and Maryland, focusing primarily in personal injury, family law and civil litigation. She also serves as an adjunct faculty member coaching students in Moot Court competitions around the country.
Mendola earned her undergraduate degree in political science from Seton Hill University and her law degree from Elon Law.
“I am grateful for the opportunities Elon Law has given me, both as a law student and now as a new member of the Office of Academic Success,” Mendola said. “I am looking forward to teaching and connecting with Elon Law students to help further them in their journeys towards becoming our future practicing attorneys.”
