Elon students break for Thanksgiving holiday

By bus, plane, train or car, Elon students headed home Tuesday, Nov. 20 for the Thanksgiving holiday. About 25 students took advantage of chartered bus service to the Washington, D.C., area. Details...

For a $70 fee, the students will receive roundtrip transportation from Elon to Springfield, Va., where they will be met by family or friends later this evening. The bus will depart Springfield at 3 p.m. Sunday for the return trip to Elon.

The service was provided as an alternative for students who did not want to fly home or battle highway traffic, which is expected to be heavier than normal this year.

Airport shuttles also left campus Tuesday afternoon, taking students to Raleigh-Durham International and Greensboro’s Piedmont Triad International to meet scheduled flights. Elon has offered airport shuttle service to its students for years.

Classes ended Tuesday, Nov. 20 and will resume at 8 a.m., Monday, Nov. 26.
