Faculty books featured in Oxford publication

Two recent books by Anthony Weston, professor of philosophy, were featured in a recent publication by Oxford University Press. Details...

Weston’s books, “A 21st Century Ethical Toolbox,” and “A Practical Companion to Ethics,” were among the texts listed in Oxford Press publication titled “Philosophy: New and Recent Texts, 2002.” The catalog features Oxford Press texts in disciplines such as ethics, philosophy, logic, epistemology and metaphysics.

“A 21st Century Ethical Toolbox” was published in 2000. The text takes a hands-on approach to introductory ethics, providing students with a set of tools to help them understand and make a difference in real-life moral controversies.

“A Practical Companion to Ethics,” published in 2001, is an introduction to the basic attitudes and skills that make ethics work, such as thinking for oneself, keeping an open mind, and creative and integrative problem-solving.
