Brooke Greenberg '17, who uses the stage name Brooke Alexx, will be a contestant in the new NBC singing competition show representing her home state of New Jersey.
Elon alumna Brooke Greenberg ’17, better known by her stage name Brooke Alexx, will be a contestant on NBC’s new singing competition series “American Song Contest,” which premieres Monday, March 21.
Alexx will represent her home state of New Jersey, and her episode will air on Monday, April 4.
Alexx graduated from Elon with a degree in music production and recording arts. She lives in Nashville, Tennessee, where she also regularly performs and works on new music. She performed at Lollapalooza 2021 in Chicago last August and her latest EP, “I’m Sorry, Tokyo,” was released in January.
She was also been selected by the American Society of Composers, Authors & Publishers for its 2021 Guidance from Publishers for Songwriters (GPS) Project.
The show is the American version of the worldwide hit show “Eurovision Song Contest” and will “feature live original musical performances, representing all 50 states, five U.S. territories and our nation’s capital, competing to win the country’s vote for the Best Original Song. An incredible solo artist, duo, DJ or a band will represent each location and will perform a new, original song, celebrating the different styles and genres across America. The live competition consists of three rounds as the acts compete in a series of qualifying rounds, followed by the semifinals and the ultimate Grand Final where one state or territory will emerge victorious,” according to NBC.
