Doehler, two stats research students publish paper on Statistics Practicum course

Kirsten Doehler, associate professor of statistics, and statistics research students Alexandra Lahetta ’22 and Sierra Paloian co-authored the article “Implementing a Senior Statistics Practicum: Lessons and Feedback from Multiple Offerings” in the Journal of Statistics and Data Science Education.

This publication is based on research investigating student sentiment and perceived usefulness of different components of the Statistics Practicum course. This capstone course offers statistics majors real-world opportunities to carry out a statistics or data analytics project for an outside organization. Data for the study was collected through student reflection assignments and survey responses from course participants.
