Princeton University professor Marta Tienda will deliver the annual Phi Beta Kappa lecture in LaRose Digital Theatre in the Koury Business Center at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 5.
Tienda studies social inequality and its racial, ethnic and gendered variations. The Maurice P. During ’22 Professor of Demographic Studies and professor of sociology and public affairs emerita at Princeton University, she has written extensively about fair access to higher education. She is co-author of “The Hispanic Population of the United States,” the first national comparison of the major nationality groups, and has contributed to other important books and more than 200 scholarly articles. She is a member of the American Academic of Arts and Sciences, the American Academy of Political and Social Sciences, and the National Academy of Education.
