The Elon University Marching Band, the “Fire of the Carolinas”, performed in exhibition Saturday evening at the Ledford High School Marching Contest in Thomasville, NC, before 2,000 enthusiastic high school band students. The band was invited to perform by Ledford High School Band Director Philip Riggs last Spring. It marks the band’s first appearance outside Alamance County. The Fire of the Carolinas next appearance will be October 19 when they perform in exhibition at the Central North Carolina Band Festival held at Western Alamance High School.
