NC Weekend, the weekly program from PBS North Carolina highlighting “must-see places” around the state, will premiere an episode featuring Elon University and The Inn at Elon on Thursday, May 5, at 9 p.m.
Host Deborah Holt Noel visited the inn and Elon’s campus in March to learn more about the on-campus 80-room boutique hotel and restaurant that offers guests the opportunity to have “a stay with purpose.” The inn is owned by the university and operated by Charlestowne Hotels, with the proceeds beyond the hotel’s operating costs being used to fund student scholarships.
“Our guests can take pride in the fact that they are supporting Elon’s commitment toward a greater purpose,” Vice President for Finance and Administration Janet Williams told Noel during her visit.
The inn is set at the main north entrance to Elon University’s campus, which is consistently recognized as the nation’s most beautiful collegiate environment. Located next to the Ernest A. Koury Sr. Business Center at 605 North O’Kelly Avenue, the inn features 10 suites along with 70 rooms featuring king-sized and queen-sized beds. Along with The Mark, The Inn at Elon features an outdoor courtyard with fire pits, a fitness center, dedicated on-site parking, valet and bell service and complimentary bicycle rentals for guests to explore Elon’s botanical garden campus.
“We’re more than just a top-100 national university in an exciting, historic town,” Vice President for Strategic Initiatives Jeff Stein told Noel.
Watch this Thursday at 9 p.m. on PBS NC or stream anytime after the premiere on the PBS Video App.
