Price Hicks, director of educational programs and services for the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences in Hollywood, will be a special guest in the School of Communications Wednesday, Oct. 23. She will visit with students in several classes in addition to meeting with faculty members.
Hicks’ department runs four major programs for this prime television industry group: Student Internships; College Television Awards; Faculty Seminar and the Visiting Professionals Program. The internship program annually offers 30 students a full-time, paid position in varied areas of television work. The College Television Awards disperse $47,500 annually in cash and prizes.
In her Elon visit, Hicks will speak about these programs and show winning videos from the 2001 College Television Awards competition.
