Elon conducts test outdoor alarm and emergency notification systems

The test of the outdoor alarm and emergency alert systems by Elon Campus Safety and Police will take place at 9:45 a.m. and will last about three minutes.

Elon University Campus Safety and Police are conducting a test of the outdoor alarm system and the emergency alert systems on Tuesday, Oct. 18, at 9:45 a.m. The test will last approximately three minutes and an all clear will be given at the conclusion of the test.  If you are not yet receiving E-Alerts this would be perfect time to update your information.  Please login to your OnTrack account and update your User Profile with your cell phone number.  Directions on that process are here.

During this test, the Elon community will be notified in the following ways:

  • Outdoor siren
  • E-Alert: text and email message
  • Rave Guardian Safety App Message
  • LED Boards around campus

The new mobile app provides the following services to users:

  • Direct dial Elon Campus Safety and Police with the potential to also provide your GPS location
  • Two-way communication enabling users to message safety officials via text and email
  • Receive targeted mobile notifications
  • Submit anonymous tips
  • Provide one-touch phone numbers of local first responders and services on campus
  • Provide necessary resource information to the campus community (i.e. crisis counseling, SafeLine, bias response, etc.)
