Fall Registrar’s report

Elon's fall 1999 enrollment is 3,961, including 3,701 undergraduates and 260 graduate students.

This year’s total enrollment is up 116 from last year. That reflects an increase of 56 graduate students and 60 undergraduate students. Students come from 42 states, the District of Columbia, the Virgin Islands and 35 foreign countries. The female: male ratio is 40%:60%; 97% of all undergraduates are full-time and 63% live on campus.

The latest figures from Institutional Research show that the four-year graduation rate jumped to 60.4% this year. This is a 5.6% jump over last year. The five- and six-year rates are still around 64%. The freshman to sophomore year retention rate held at 85%.
