An international conference on the problem of HIV/AIDS in Africa, organized by Elon’s Periclean Scholars and Namibian university students, has received coverage in the African press.

Eleven student delegates from Elon have joined forces with students from the Polytechnic of Namibia and the University of Namibia for the unique summit, titled “Future Leaders Summit on HIV/AIDS,” that will serve as a springboard for proposing solutions to the HIV/AIDS crisis. More than 20 percent of Namibia’s population is infected with HIV.
