The reception is the culmination of a yearlong commemoration of the fire of 1923 and the growth of Elon that followed.
Elon University will host the Rising from the Ashes: A Century of Progress and Innovation reception on Friday, Nov. 3 from 4:30 to 6 p.m. at the Great Hall inside the Global Neighborhood Commons building.
The reception is a celebration of the programs, initiatives, ideas, individuals and events that defined Elon’s astonishing rise from the ashes.
Attendees will find displays of those honorees and descriptions of their efforts toward the betterment of Elon.
This past year, Elon has commemorated the devastating fire of 1923 that destroyed Old Main and threatened the future of the institution with a variety of events and gatherings. Friday’s reception is the culmination of a year of commemoration that will honor the rebuilding, reimaging, innovation and inspiration that followed 1923.
Food and live music will also be included at the reception.
