Lemack, who has served as an adjunct faculty member with the Elon in Los Angeles Study USA program since 2010, will begin in the new role on Jan. 22.
Elon University has selected Brad Lemack as the new Director of Elon University Los Angeles.
Lemack has served as an adjunct faculty member with the Elon in Los Angeles Study USA program since 2010. He created and taught courses in entertainment public relations, strategic writing for the entertainment industry and creating strategic nonprofit public relations campaigns. Lemack also helped reimagine the Elon in LA-based academic internship course, which he has also taught for many years. He will continue to teach with the Elon in LA program as well as provide oversight and leadership for our Los Angeles location overall.
Lemack has had prolific, concurrent careers in both the entertainment and communications industries and in higher education for decades, which have served each other in unique ways. His entertainment and communications work informs his work in the classroom, while his classroom work has always provided him with fresh insight into preparing students for their transitions from their academic studies to their professional careers.
Lemack served as a publicity executive at TV producer Norman Learʼs production company, working on hit serieses as well as films, specials, syndicated content and network pilots. He later launched his own business venture, Lemack & Company Talent Management/Public Relations, specializing in strategic communications, career management, brand development and representation of a diverse roster of actors and other clients. The public relations arm of the company did extensive, award-winning work in the nonprofit sector.
He is the author of four popular books for actors, and the most recent is “The New Business of Acting: How to Build a Career in a Changing Landscape ‒ The Next Edition.” He and has been a contributing columnist for the industry trade publication Back Stage. He earned a bachelor’s degree in communications from Emerson College and earned a master of arts degree in theatre arts and dance, with a concentration in performance for social change, at California State University, Los Angeles.
He will begin his role on Monday, Jan. 22.
