Elon’s Dining Engagement program builds community one bite at a time

Elon University's Dining Engagement program aims to foster a vibrant and inclusive community by serving up intentional relationships, enriching learning experiences, and celebrations of diversity.

At Elon, meaningful connections are built not just in classrooms and labs, but also around shared tables. The Dining Engagement mission sees dining as more than sustenance – it’s a dynamic platform to foster a vibrant and inclusive community where everyone feels welcome and connected. The programs aim to cultivate intentional relationships, enrich learning experiences, celebrate diversity, and create a measurable impact. Elon wants to ensure that every student, faculty, and staff member feels a sense of belonging and has opportunities to engage with others in meaningful ways.

Here’s how Dining Engagement can enrich your Elon experience:

T.A.S.L. and S.I.D.E. remove barriers and foster genuine conversations in order to build meaningful relationships among community members. The University covers the cost of the meal, making it a relaxed and casual setting for conversation and mentorship. Just tell your cashier you’re using the program and mention who invited whom at checkout. More information about use here.

  • T.A.S.L.: Faculty/Staff can invite a student up to 12 times a year.
  • S.I.D.E.: Students can invite a staff or faculty member up to 5 times a year.

Dining Engagement is about more than just good food – it’s about building community. We encourage you to explore these programs, connect with others, and contribute to the vibrant tapestry of our campus community. Let’s share meals, share stories and build meaningful connections – one bite at a time.
