Elon faculty present at Lavender Languages and Linguistics Conference

Elon faculty presented at the 30th Lavender Languages and Linguistics Conference at the University of Brighton in Brighton, England.

The forthcoming volume, Critical Sexuality Studies, Lavender Languages, and Everyday Life.

Lavender Languages and Linguistics, the longest continually running LGBT studies conference, gathers scholars of language, gender and sexuality from across the globe to share current research.

Archie Crowley, assistant professor of English and Leyla Savloff, assistant professor of anthropology, presented as part of a roundtable discussion about the forthcoming edited volume, Critical Sexuality Studies, Lavender Languages, and Everyday Life, published by Bloomsbury.The roundtable brought together the editors and contributors of the volume to discuss its contributions to the fields of critical sexuality studies and language, gender and sexuality research.

Savloff presented her chapter, “Putes Feministas: Inclusive Language and Social Media Activism” and Crowley presented their co-authored chapter “The Transgender Couple: Transnormativity and the Discourse of t4t.”

The edited volume will be released in October 2024.
