The university has partnered with the Alamance Chamber and Impact Alamance to host candidate forums for the Alamance-Burlington School System Board of Education and the Alamance County Board of Commissioners.
As part of its focus on civic engagement and voter participation, Elon University is hosting candidate forums in partnership with the Alamance Chamber and Impact Alamance with support from the City of Burlington and Elon News Network.
The two forums will offer local voters the opportunity to hear from candidates for the Alamance-Burlington School System Board of Education and the Alamance County Commissioners. The forums will be held in the Paramount Theater in downtown Burlington and will be livestreamed by Elon News Network.
“We value civic engagement and encouraging both Elon students and community members alike to participate in the democratic process,” said Dillan Bono-Lunn, assistant professor of political science and public policy and faculty fellow for civic engagement. “Our goal is to help local voters understand where ABSS Board of Education and Alamance County Commissioner candidates stand on important issues facing the community, so they can cast an informed vote.”
