35 Elon student-athletes earn fall 2008 academic all-conference honors

Thirty-five Elon student-athletes received academic all-conference recognition by the Southern Conference during the fall season. Elon ranked #2 among the 12 SoCon schools in the number of athletes earning recognition. To be eligible, a student-athlete must possess at least a 3.2 cumulative grade point average entering the fall season and must have competed in at least one-half of their team’s competitions during the recently-concluded fall campaign.

Elon students prepare for their role in statewide DTV test

About 25 students gathered Jan. 12 for training in preparation for this week's digital television transition test in North Carolina. The Elon students will staff the statewide hotline phone bank which will be headquartered in the TV studio at Elon's School of Communications.

Woodlief publishes N.C. treatise supplements

Student Andrew Newman selected to attend University Presidential Inaugural Conference

Andrew Newman, an Elon junior, will attend several events associated with the inauguration of Barack Obama in Washington Jan. 17-21. Newman was selected to participate in the University Presidential Inaugural Conference, an opportunity for alumni of the National Youth Leadership Forum, the Congressional Youth Leadership Council and the International Scholar Laureate Program.

Alumnus Billy Devaney named General Manager of St. Louis Rams

The St. Louis Rams’ front office recently named Elon alumnus and former football player Billy Devaney the team’s General Manager. Devaney, who played the 1975-77 seasons with Elon, joined the Rams’ staff in February and was promoted to GM on Christmas Eve.

Campus Grotto names Elon top private college – financially
