Former U.S. president and hero of the War of 1812, Andrew Jackson will help fund an endowed scholarship at Elon University’s School of Law – through the sales commissions of reproductions of his portrait.

The no. 2 seed UNC Wilmington Seahawks posted 11 runs in the top of the ninth inning to down the no. 3 seed Elon Phoenix 15-11 on June 1. The loss ends Elon's competition in this year's NCAA post-season play.

Elon Law hosted a state-wide conference organized by the North Carolina Legal Education Assistance Foundation (NCLEAF) on May 22. The group heard a presentation by Heather Jarvis of Equal Justice Works on the College Cost Reduction and Access Act of 2007 which provides exciting opportunities for income-based repayment and loan forgiveness options for public interest attorneys.

The Elon Phoenix defeated the College of Charleston Cougars 17-8 on May 25 to claim the 2008 SoCon tournament title.  Elon improved to 43-16 and claims the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Division I baseball tournament.
