Professor of English Kevin Boyle has published three poems.

Professor of English Kevin Boyle will be giving a poetry reading on Wednesday, Oct. 17, at North Carolina State University in Raleigh.

English majors Rob Shapiro, Kelsey Camacho and Jacqueline Alnes were selected as winners in our 2012 Frederick Hartmann Poetry Contest. They receive cash awards thanks to a generous donation by the late William Maness.

Mark J. Brewin Jr., who graduated from Elon in 2007, has won a major award for his poetry, the 2012 Agha Shahid Ali Poetry Prize. Mark's book of poems, "Palace Depression," will be published this spring by the University of Utah Press.

Jensen Suther, an English major and Lumen Scholar, has had his paper accepted for presentation at the Derrida Conference, which will be held this spring at The Goethe University in Frankfurt, Germany.

Senior English major Kasey Thornton has been named a finalist in the NC State Fiction Contest. The contest is open to all North Carolina residents as well as all students currently enrolled in North Carolina universities.
