Nov 29 through Dec 7: Networking Strategies Workshops

The Love School of Business Career Services center is offering “Networking Strategies for Successful Career Search” workshops for LSB students this week and next week in KOBC Rom 204. Learn how to develop your elevator speech and enhance communication and networking strategies. The hour-long workshops are led by Richard Jordon, LSB Career Services Associate Director, and Kehaya Wescott, LSB Internship Coordinator.

Steve DeLoach named Hollingsworth Visiting Scholar at Furman

Steve DeLoach, a professor of economics in the Martha and Spencer Love School of Business, has been named the 2011-11 Hollingsworth Visiting Scholar at Furman University. He will be presenting the Hollingsworth Lecture at Furman on Thursday, November 17.

Small Business Consultant Training Session – Nov. 16

The Elon Microfinance Initiative is hosting a Small Business Consultant Training Session on Tuesday, November 16, 5-6 pm in KOBC Room 244. This session is open to students in all majors. The director of the Small Business Center in Graham will discuss how to effectively provide support to local small business, particularly through microfinance and educational tools.

BNY Mellon Manager to Talk About Banking Career Paths

Peter Keaveney, a manager at BNY Mellon Asset Servicing, will be talking to students about careers in the banking industry and will discuss his own career path in a presentation on Thursday, November 11, KOBC Room 353 at 4:15 pm.

Earl Honeycutt receives Best Paper award from Marketing Education Review

Earl Honeycutt, professor of Marketing and director of the Chandler Family Professional Sales Center, received the Best Paper of the Year for 2010 from Marketing Education Review for the article "The Three Dichotomies of Marketing." Honeycutt received the award at a luncheon during the Society of Marketing Advances 2010 Conference, held November 3-6 in Atlanta.

Gary L. Clinton, former Citigroup Head of Global Relationship Banking in Asia, will give a talk on economic and currency issues associated with China on Monday, October 25, 10:50 am in LaRose Digital Theatre. His talk is open to all LSB students.

LSB Students Named Finalists at World Collegiate Sales Competition

Love School of Business students Gregory "Carl" Hairston and Tyler Reynolds have been named as finalists for the World Collegiate Sales Competition, to be held November 11-13 at Northern Illinois University. Only 16 students nationwide were selected as finalists. Students Priscilla Abad and Lindsay Richardson were named semifinalists for the upcoming competition.
