Students awarded Fulbrights for overseas teaching and research

Three Elon University seniors – Chris Jarrett, Gabrielle Dean and Brittany Carroll – have each been awarded Fulbright Program grants for overseas research and teaching, and their selections represent the largest number of students in university history to receive the prestigious national honor in the same academic year.

Foundation gift funds engagement initiative for incoming Jewish students

In an effort to welcome new students to campus and through the support of an anonymous gift to the university, Elon Hillel this summer launched a pilot project where a trio of student interns reached out to dozens of incoming freshmen with the goal of engaging them in the growing Jewish life on campus.
Mat Gendle co-authors chapter in forthcoming book

Mathew Gendle, an associate professor in the Department of Psychology, along with colleagues at Cornell University and the University of California-Santa Cruz, has co-authored a chapter in the forthcoming book Gender Differences in Prenatal Substance Exposure to be published by the American Psychological Association and released on Oct. 15, 2011, as part of the APA’s Decade of Behavior book series.
