that would make a snowman shiver? Easy. Elon students in search of gift
cards to local shops and restaurants. The annual Polar Bear Plunge took
place on campus Jan. 22, 2008, with nearly three dozen people braving
the frigid air for a chance at winning prizes.

took part in the 4th annual “Education Day with the Phoenix” this week,
where they learned a little geography, math and fitness before watching the Elon
women’s basketball team top Presbyterian.
Elon students raise money for charities

during the fall with fundraisers and volunteer service for various

School System over the fall to measure how well local residents
understand the way school budgets are created. The five classmates, as part
of their graduate work, reported to system leaders that few people
know how public schools receive and spend annual funds.
