Prominent AIDS activist to visit Dec. 1

After learning she contracted HIV in 2000 from her husband, Anita Isaacs, who visits campus on Dec. 1 for World AIDS Day, took aim at the stigma attached to the disease in her native country. The Namibian activist is now tackling violence against women, a theme she plans to explore in her first visit to Elon since 2004.

Former professor makes gift to Elon library

A generous gift from a former Elon music professor will help the Belk Library expand its book and score collection in classical music and opera. Wayne T. Moore, who would also teach for and later retire from Auburn University, presented the university librarian with a check for the collection on Nov. 30.

“Return of the Banzai” artwork makes stop on campus

A sculpture by a South Carolina artist is currently on display outside the Center for the Arts near Lake Mary Nell. Its purpose? To provide viewers with “a sense of stability, balance and centeredness.”
