August 15 is the Solemnity of the Assumption of Mary into Heaven, and a holy day of obligation for Catholics. A Vigil Mass will be celebrated Wednesday evening in Holt Chapel at 4 p.m. All are welcome.

Three Ash Wednesday services on Feb. 22 will held at the Elon Community Church.

In honor of the feast of St. Francis of Assisi, friend of all things living and patron of ecology, the annual Blessing of Animals will be held on Thursday, Oct. 13, at College Chapel, in front of Whitley Auditorium (weather permitting) at 9:50 a.m.
