"Do Gritty Teachers Create Grittier Students?" a question posed by Erin Hone, lecturer in Education, and two senior Elon Teaching Fellows, Paige Knapke and Micaela Malachowski, during their presentation at the North Carolina Association of Elementary Educators (NCAEE) conference in Raleigh on January 18.

Briana Konecke '17, who majored in history with teacher licensure, is now serving as a Peace Corps volunteer in Indonesia.

Marna Winter, senior lecturer and chair of the Department of Education and Wellness, Lecturer in Education Erin Hone, and Allison Bryan, director of the Curriculum Resources Center, each presented at the Hawaii International Conference for Education held Jan. 4-7, 2020.

The Office of the Governor, the North Carolina Business Committee for Education and The Hunt Institute held the DRIVE Summit at the N.C. State Talley Student Union on Dec. 10, 2019.

Elon welcomes a new cohort of 12 to the M.A. in Higher Education program. Orientation for the 12 graduate apprentices will be held on campus from Aug. 7-9. 

 

​The deadline to apply for spring 2020 admission to Teacher Education is Nov. 15, 2019.

The School of Education will welcome new students into the Teacher Education Program during an induction ceremony on Sept. 19, 2019.

This orientation session is for clinical teachers who will work with our student teacher candidates during the 2019-20 school year. Orientation is scheduled for Thursday, October 10th in Oaks 212 and will begin at 4 p.m.

Bullock, dean of the School of Education, was reappointed to serve on the state commission to establish high standards for state educators and to make rule recommendations regarding all aspects of preparation, licensure, continuing education and standards of conduct for public school educators.
