During a virtual ceremony on May 19, the Department of English celebrated the accomplishments of English majors in the Class of 2020.

Cassandra Kircher presented "What's Form Got to Do With It? Focusing on Form in the Creative Nonfiction Classroom" at the 2016 Associated Writers and Writing Programs Conference in Los Angeles, California.   

Cassandra Kircher's essay, "No More to the Lake," was published in the most recent issue (Volume 80.2) of North Dakota Quarterly. 

Professor of English Cassandra Kircher's essay "On E.B. White, Adoption, and Writing Hybrid Reviews" was published in a 2014 edition of Essay Daily.

Ryan Van Meter is this year's visiting nonfiction writer and the judge for the 2014 nonfiction contest sponored by the English Department and the William Maness Fund. 

 

The theme of the 2013 Carret Essay Competition is "Thomas Jefferson, the West, and American Individualism." The top prize is $1,000.

Professor of English Cassandra Kircher gave a nonfiction reading on Wednesday, Nov. 7, at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington.
