Jerry Tolley, former Elon head football coach, publishes sixth book

Jerry Tolley, head football coach emeritus at Elon, recently published his sixth book of football drills. The Complete Book of Football Tackling Drills offers detailed, illustrated instructions from some of the college football's most renowned coaches, including Ohio State's Jim Tressel, Alabama's Nick Saban, Texas' Mack Brown and Virginia Tech's Frank Beamer, among many others.
N.C. Sports Hall of Fame to induct two former Elon coaches

Tom Parham and Jerry Tolley will be among seven accomplished figures this spring to make up the 2011 class to the North Carolina Sports Hall of Fame. Parham, who led Elon men's tennis program for nearly two decades and briefly coached the women's team, and Tolley, a celebrated Elon football coach, will be enshrined at a May 12 ceremony in the North Raleigh Hilton Hotel. Both men won NAIA national championships during their Elon careers.

Jack Staley ’83 earns promotion in N.C. Wildlife Resources Commission

Jack Staley '83 has been promoted to supervisor of field operations for the North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission's Division of Law Enforcement. Staley will oversee more than 200 officers in District 5, which includes Alamance, Rockingham, Orange, Granville, Durham, Person, Caswell, Randolph, Chatham, Lee and Guilford Counties.

Former Phoenix standouts Terrell Hudgins and Andre Campbell will take a step toward their professional football dreams in 2011, signing contracts to play in arena football leagues. Hudgins has signed with the Chicago Rush of the Arena Football League. Campbell will join the defensive line of the Columbus (Ga.) Lions of the Southern Indoor Football League.
