Patsy Lynch ’75 honored as a GLBT History Month Icon

Photographer Patsy Lynch '75 has been named one of 31 GLBT History Month Icons by the Equality Forum, a national and international GLBT civil rights organization. Lynch, an accomplished photographer, documented decades of GLBT history as a staff member for The Advocate and the UPI news agency, and she was the first openly gay journalist to receive a White House press credential.

Alumni chapters kick off month of service

Be part of something big! Elon alumni from coast to coast are invited to join our regional alumni chapters at several service events planned for the next month. The Elon Alumni Association promotes the month of service in October as a way for alumni to continue Elon's mission to produce global citizens and informed leaders motivated by concern for the common good.

The Business Journal of the Triad featured 2008 Elon MBA alumnus Kyle Regan, owner of the Greensboro, N.C., coffee shop Coffeeology, in its Sept. 30 issue. Coffeeology celebrated its first anniversary this month, and the article traces Regan's path toward small business ownership and the twists and turns he's taken.

Emily Tucker Barzee ’02 speaks about appearance on NBC’s ‘Minute to Win It’

If you happened to catch the Aug. 11 episode of NBC’s summer game show, “Minute to Win it,” you may have seen a familiar face. Emily Tucker Barzee ’02 and her husband, Scott, won $125,000 on the show, hosted by chef and TV personality Guy Fieri. “Minute to Win It” offers contestants the chance to win $1 million if they complete ten challenges using common household items. Each challenge must be completed in 60 seconds.

Alumni leaders focus on campaign, strategic plan at fall meetings

Members of the Elon Alumni Board and Young Alumni Council returned to campus Sept. 10-12 to participate in the groups’ annual fall meetings. High on the agenda for both groups were their roles in supporting the final year of the Ever Elon Campaign as well as the Elon Commitment strategic plan.

Alumni offer words of wisdom to LSB students

Several students in the Martha and Spencer Love School of Business walked into classes on Friday, Sept. 10, to a bit of a surprise. At the front of the classroom stood not only their faculty members, but also representatives of the Elon Alumni Board, who visited the classes to share industry and career advice with the next generation of Elon’s alumni. The Alumni Board held its semiannual meetings on campus Sept. 10-11.
