David Stevens ’81 named regional CEO for SunTrust Bank

SunTrust Banks, Inc. announced that effective June 14, David Stevens '81 will become President and Chief Executive Officer of the company's Central Carolina Region. The position covers the I-40 corridor from Wilmington to Morganton and includes both the Triangle and the Triad areas of North Carolina.

A renowned scholar in the field of religious studies, a respected Elon colleague and an influential teacher of Elon students for more than two decades, Jeffrey Pugh, Maude Sharpe Powell Professor of Religious Studies, has been named the 2010 Distinguished University Scholar.
April Post ’01 receives Periclean Award for outstanding community service

April Post, a 2001 Elon graduate, returned to North Carolina in 2004 and immediately made an impact in her classes, her church and for local Hispanic students and their families. In recognition of her efforts, Post, lecturer in Spanish, has received the 2010 Periclean Award.

All gifts received by May 31, 2010, count toward the Faculty/Staff Campaign as well as to Ever Elon: The Campaign for the Future of Our University, which seeks to build the university’s endowment, increase annual and planned giving, and build and preserve the campus. To date, donors to Ever Elon have contributed more than $77 million toward the $100 million comprehensive campaign goal.
