Lauren Kearns

Lauren Kearns, professor of dance and chair of the Department of Performing Arts, was invited to guest teach in Ireland and present in Finland. 

The choreography "Gilded" by Kristen Brooks Sandler '13, who studied dance performance and choreography in the Department of Performing Arts, won Best Dance Award at Capital Fringe Festival in Washington D.C. 

 

Handspring Publishing has published a new textbook by Professor of Dance Laurent Kearns, "Somatics in Action: A Mindful and Physical Conditioning Tool for Movers." 

The Performing Arts Department presents Echoes, the spring dance concert, with performances March 9-11.

Professor of Dance Lauren Kearns and three undergraduate students presented their research and attended the national conference in Houston, Texas.

Julie Crothers, who earend a bachelor's of fine arts in dance in 2014, returned to campus to teach two master classes and interact with the dance majors.

Kristen Sandler, who earned her bachelor's degree in dance performance and choreography in 2013, visited campus, taught a master class and shared strategies for success. 

The Dance Program hosted two internationally known guest artists who taught master classes to dance majors.  

After performing with the Rockettes for two seasons in Nashville, Lauren Renck '13 is moving to New York City to dance at the world-famous venue.

The upcoming tour of “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat” will include two of our Dance Performance and Choreography alumnae as it opens this fall.
