New Faculty (full-time) Session with Human Resources 

July 25, 2017

Representatives from the Office of Human Resources will begin benefits orientation for all new full-time faculty members. Benefit enrollment forms will be given and discussed at this time. New faculty members who have not submitted the required documents (social security card, driver’s license, deposit slip, voided check, etc.) or have not completed the new hire paperwork packet should bring the aforementioned documents to this meeting. Your passport will satisfy the I-9 form; however, the social security card is needed for payroll purposes.

Intended Audience: All new full-time faculty members.

NOTE: Previous Elon adjuncts who are now changing to full-time faculty status should also attend this session.

 

LGBTQIA Faculty and Staff Reception

Honors Thesis New Mentor Meeting

Student Health Behaviors: Response and Referral Resources

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, academic performance and student health are inextricably linked. Learn techniques for supporting student health and responding to indicators of unhealthy behaviors. Get updated information on university resources for individual response and referrals. The National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism reports that about a quarter of college students experience difficulty with academics due to alcohol use. Other health topics impacting academic performance include sleep, stress, nutrition, sexuality and relationships.

Intended Audience: Open to all members of the Elon University Community

 

Faculty and Staff Leaders of Short-term Study Abroad and Study USA Courses

This workshop is required of faculty and staff who will be leading a group off-campus in 2017-18, whether abroad or domestically. We will have guest speakers offer strategies on how to build responsible student behavior into your curriculum as well as reflection activities. Please direct any questions to Mark Dalhouse.

Using the Common Reading, Make Your Home Among Strangers by Jennie Capo Crucet
