The American Bar Association Center for Racial and Ethnic Diversity and the ABA Young Lawyers Division announced on May 17 that Elon Law’s student-led Diversity Week won first place in the annual Next Steps Diversity Challenge.

Elon Law professor and Constitutional Law scholar Scott Gaylord, who filed an amicus brief in the U.S. Supreme Court’s Town of Greece v. Galloway case, discussed the Court’s decision in the case with University of California Irvine School of Law Dean Erwin Chemerinsky on May 6 through a National Constitution Center podcast.

After a ten-year separation caused by civil war in Somalia, a family was reunited on April 16 in Greensboro, N.C., aided by law students in Elon’s Humanitarian Immigration Law Clinic. Their story was featured on Fox news stations across the country.

At Elon Law’s April Reception with the Legal Community, 34 students were recognized for significant pro bono and community service, including third-year law student Caitlin Cutchin who was recognized for contributing the most pro bono hours while at Elon with 581 hours logged. 

Twenty-five teams of law students representing 16 law schools participated in the fourth annual Billings, Exum & Frye National Moot Court Competition at Elon University School of Law on March 28 and 29.
