Members of the faculty at Elon Law published books, participated in conferences, and engaged national and local media on legal current affairs this summer. Some of their activities and achievements are noted in this article.

Volume three, issue one of the Elon Law Review includes four articles by scholars and teachers of law who are experts in legal education pedagogy. The authors explore enhancements to casebooks, testing techniques, teaching methods, teacher evaluation, and other aspects of law school instruction to improve learning in legal education.

On August 18, the Elon Law Class of 2014 participated in the fifth annual "Elon Law Reaches Out" community service day. During this annual orientation event, the entering class assisted several nonprofit organizations in the Greensboro community.

Triangle Business Law, a boutique law firm founded by Elon Law alumnus Mital Patel, '09, was among three entities to organize Triangle Startup Weekend in Durham, North Carolina in early June. The event was designed to support entrepreneurs in the development of early stage product ideas and to encourage increased entrepreneurial activity in the region.

Elaine R. Jones, the nation’s top civil rights lawyer from 1993 to 2004, told current and prospective law students at Elon Law’s second annual Diversity Day, that preparation was essential to achieving success in legal practice and in advancing civil rights.

After retired U.S. Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O'Connor spoke at Elon Law on March 8, several North Carolina newspapers editorialized in favor of her call to change the state's system of selecting judges.

The feature article in the Sunday, August 21 careers section of the Greensboro News and Record explores Elon Law's program of legal education and its benefits though the lens of Elon Law alumnus Bernie Brown, L'10, an attorney with Womble Carlyle Sandridge & Rice PLLC.

On August 17, the eve of the Wyndham Championship, Elon University School of Law hosted a sports management forum that explored different aspects of professional sports, especially professional golf.
