The award honors distinguished professionals in the field of leisure and recreation who are considered to be a positive role model epitomizing the values and desired outcomes of recreation and demonstrates enthusiasm for the profession.  

The article by Carol Smith and Rodney Parks explored deepening experiential learning in the absence of technology and will appear in the Journal of Adventure Education and Outdoor Learning.

The chapter by the associate professor of health and human performance is included in "Exploring Teachers in Fiction and Film: Saviors, Scapegoats and Schoolmarms," which was published in April.
