Samantha DiRosa

A video art work of appropriated Meg Ryan romantic comedy film moments, commissioned by saxophonist Steven Stusek and composer Wei Dai, will premiere at a UNCG concert on April 15, 2014, at 7:30 p.m. in the School of Music's recital hall.

The Elon associate professor of art and environmental studies collaborated with poet and landscape theorist Jolie B. Kaytes for the project, Gathering Dust: Sediment/Sentiment, which will be on view at Virginia's well-known Torpedo Factory Art Center in Alexandria through Dec. 1.

Students in Professor Samantha DiRosa's ART 339 Eco-Art class will be carrying out creative "interventions" around campus the week of May 6–10.  

On September 27, as part of the UNCG Sustainability and the Arts Symposium, Associate Professor of Art and Environmental Studies, Samantha DiRosa, will present Poignant Actions: Creative Responses to the Environmental Crisis.

A triptych of photographs from Associate Professor of Digital Art and Environmental Studies Samantha DiRosa's body of work Gathering Dust: Sediment/Sentiment, was included in K Space Contemporary's group exhibition on the theme of water, titled Watered Down: The Ebb and the Flow, in Corpus Christi, Texas.

Pieces from Samantha DiRosa's body of work Gathering Dust: Sediment/Sentiment were recently included in two exhibitions on environmental art, Biotics Semiotics (Allen Priebe Art Gallery, University of Wisconsin) and Flora/Fauna (The Fine Arts Center of Hot Spring, AR).

Eco-Art course students cordially invite you, in honor of Earth Week, to spend some time with the plants, the butterflies, and the birds at the Elon Community Garden Friday, April 20 between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.

Soundscapes constructed by students in Associate Professor Samantha DiRosa's Time Arts Foundations course can be heard in the main entrance hallways of the Center for the Arts through Dec. 2.
