School of Communications students Kathryn Jeffords '15 and Kayla Hammer '16 captured first place in the 2015 RiverRun International Film Festival’s documentary pitchfest, a student competition judged by a panel of industry experts, including award-winning filmmaker Stanley Nelson.

The director of digital marketing at Sony Legacy and Elon University graduate was profiled in an April 2015 article titled “The Medium: How Tom Mullen Took a Stand for Emo.”

A dozen School of Communications students traded part of their spring break to visit New York City and meet with several high-level broadcast news professionals, including Michael Radutzky, chair of Elon’s Communications Advisory Board.

The strategic communications and B.F.A. acting double major was chosen to participate in the media and entertainment company’s 10-week paid fellowship in New York City.
