Relive Homecoming 2008 with a gallery of photos taken over the weekend by university photographer Grant Halverson. From the Spirit Rally on Friday to the football game on Saturday, Elon students and alumni showed their maroon and gold spirit, reconnecting with old acquaintances and making new friends.

Elon University alumni returned to campus on Nov. 8 for a Homecoming game against Western Carolina, but for many former students, football was a footnote for a weekend filled with reunions and remembrances.

Five Elon alumni - Joan Summers Drummond ’52, Lundon B. Sims ’02, Laith al-Majali ’05, Bonnie K. Baxter ’88  and Noel L. Allen ’69, P’07 - were honored by the university on Nov. 8 for the contributions they have made to their professions, and for the honor they bring their alma mater.

Homecoming 2008 kicked off Nov. 7 with a special College Coffee and Spirit Rally around Fonville Fountain, with appearances by the Phoenix football team, cheerleading and dance squads, and marching band.

Homecoming 2008 offers something for everyone this year, including College Coffee and the Spirit Rally, Golden Alumni luncheon, Young Alumni party, tailgating before the Phoenix football game and the Beach Bash featuring the alumni band The IN-MEN. Make plans to reconnect with Elon and your classmates.

Hannah Campbell '02, Christian Brescia '03 and Lisa Goldstein '03 were honored as outstanding young alumni during Elon's first Alumni Leadership Weekend Oct. 23-25.
