Tolley named to NAIA Hall of Fame

Jerry Tolley, former head Elon football coach and a current member of the University Advancement staff, has been named a member of the 2008-09 Hall of Fame class of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA). The honor is the highest bestowed by the NAIA.

Six new members make up the 38th class of the Elon Sports Hall of Fame. The six inductees were recognized during a halftime ceremony of the Phoenix vs. Presbyterian College football game Sept. 13.

Four Elon Athletics Teams Earn NCAA Academic Awards

Elon's men’s basketball, women's cross country, women's golf and volleyball teams are among NCAA Division I teams receiving public recognition awards for their latest multi-year Academic Progress Rate (APR) scores. The public recognition awards, announced by the NCAA April 24, are part of the broad Division I academic reform effort.
Phoenix baseball team eliminated from NCAA regional

Wilmington Seahawks posted 11 runs in the top of the ninth inning to
down the no. 3 seed Elon Phoenix 15-11 on June 1. The loss ends Elon's competition in this year's NCAA post-season play.
Elon wins Southern Conference Baseball Tournament

The Elon Phoenix defeated the College of
Charleston Cougars 17-8 on May 25 to claim the 2008 SoCon tournament title. Elon improved to 43-16
and claims the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Division I baseball tournament.
Elon wins SoCon baseball title

The Elon Phoenix will enter the upcoming 2008 Southern Conference Baseball Championship as the number one seed
after winning the regular season title outright with a 19-8 SoCon mark.
The Phoenix finished one game ahead of College of Charleston (18-9)
whose loss on the last day of the regular season gave Elon the title
outright. It is the second SoCon title for Elon in three seasons.
Vicki Hightower receives SoCon Distinguished Service Award
