Thirty-one faculty and staff members have been awarded Writing Excellence Initiative grants for projects that will help students improve their writing and increase students’ abilities to learn through writing.

The School of Education held its year-end faculty and student awards ceremony on Thursday, May 8.

Assistant Professor Vickie Moore traveled to San Diego in April 2014 to present at the annual meeting of the American Society of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology.

Aunchalee Palmquist, an assistant professor of anthropology, was awarded a post-Ph.D. grant from the Wenner-Gren Foundation to aid research on "Taking Milk from Strangers: An Anthropological Study of Internet Breast Milk Sharing in the U.S."

Professor Ann J. Cahill and Associate Professor Stephen Bloch-Schulman received the 2014 Lenssen Prize from the American Association of Philosophy Teachers for "Argumentation Step-by-Step: Learning Critical Thinking Through Deliberative Practice."

Communications assistant professor presents her work on social media and crisis communication at a special conference for emerging scholars.

Four faculty members received funds ranging from $1,500 to $4,700 for innovative projects that enhance student learning across a variety of disciplines.
