Elon University recognizes the 10 staff members who are retiring after years of dedicated service to the campus community.

The staff members were recognized for their outstanding contributions to the university at a May 31 awards program during the annual staff day celebration.

Elon’s School of Health Sciences Interprofessional Simulation Center received full accreditation from the Society for Simulation in Healthcare on May 17, 2024. The IPSC team was accredited in the area of Teaching/Education.

Candidates from graduate-level programs in the Dr. Jo Watts Williams School of Education, Martha and Spencer Love School of Business and School of Communications received their diplomas during a joint Commencement ceremony May 22 in Alumni Gym.

Grace Ackermann was selected to deliver a Message of Appreciation on behalf of the Class of 2024 at Elon’s commencement ceremonies, the first time a member of the graduating class has been invited to do so.

On May 13, the annual celebration brought together faculty, staff, and graduating seniors, marking a special occasion. Notably, this year’s festivities introduced a new tradition by incorporating awards for both students and faculty members in one event.

13 new members and two honorary members were inducted into the national French Honor Society, Pi Delta Phi.

15 Project Management students earned the Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) credential; 11 Project Management students earned the Professional Scrum Master I (PSMI) credential

Duque will spend six weeks this summer participating in programming at the Heinz College of Information Systems and Public Policy at Carnegie Mellon University.

Elon recently recognized students for completing the Peace Corps Prep program, a partnership with the U.S. Peace Corps agency that prepares students for international careers through mentoring, coursework and field experiences.
