Two DPT students met with N.C. Rep. Ricky Hurtado, whose district includes portions of Alamance County, on May 14 to discuss how legislation can affect the physical therapy profession.

A campus program in the School of Health Sciences has been created to impact physical, mental, and emotional health in homebound and isolated populations. The program will air biweekly episodes on Thursday evenings via the program's YouTube platform.

Six members of the Class of 2021 participated in a signing ceremony at Lindner Amphitheatre to formalize their participation in the service-year program offered by Elon in partnership with local organizations. Six fellows who have completed their year of service were also recognized.

The current associate director of the center was chosen following a national search.

During their May 14 presentations, three student groups highlighted their work with their respective North Carolina organizations: HeARToscope, Terra Cotta Heritage Foundation, and the African American Cultural Arts and History Center.

These funds will be used to support the Oglala Lakota Children’s Justice Center in its critical advocacy work on Pine Ridge Reservation.

Deutsch is one of Alamance County’s six service year fellows who has been working alongside the Alamance County Health Department to provide support to local residents.

Gillian Kick '22 collaborated with English professor Heather Lindenman and Alamance-Burlington Schools' Early College program in a semester-long creative writing project. Seventeen students' works will be published this summer.
