Students and faculty visited the nearby Conservators Center on Tuesday, Sept. 24, for a study in how multiple disciplines merge beyond classrooms and research.

The Sept. 11 dinner provided an opportunity for Alamance County and Elon University community members to engage in open and honest conversations regarding the portrayal of Muslims in the media, the role the Masjid plays in the community and other related topics.

The nationwide initiative aims to promote communication and healing between police and people of color in the United States. The Tuesday, Sept. 17, event will include an on-campus screening of the award-winning film “Walking While Black” and a panel discussion with Alamance County community members and law enforcement leaders.
