The English department hosts the assistant professor of creative nonfiction at UNC-Chapel Hill for a reading of her recent work. Wednesday, Feb. 7 at 7 p.m. in Johnston Hall.

The award-winning film is part of Elon's Black History Month programming and sponsored by Elon Athletics, Elondocs, African and African American Studies and CREDE. Turner Theatre, Schar Hall, 7 p.m.

Artist Renee Van der Stelt's exhibition opens on Monday, Feb. 5, with the artist speaking about her installation at a 5:30 p.m. reception in Gallery 406 at Arts West.

Hanukkah is celebrated for eight days and nights of candle lighting. In Hebrew, the word “hanukkah” means “dedication,” and it commemorates the re-dedication of the holy Temple in Jerusalem in 165 B.C.E.
