The associate professor of communications will spend two weeks at the Des Moines Register.

College writing faculty from around the globe are visiting campus for a June 25-26 program organized by the 2011-2013 Elon University Research Seminar on “Critical Transitions: Writing and the Question of Transfer.”

In a June 24 opinion column in the News & Observer, Elon Law Professor Scott Gaylord writes that judicial elections strengthen the legitimacy of the judiciary and that public financing of judicial elections is unnecessary. 

Assistant Professor of Statistics Kirsten Doehler and Associate Professor of Mathematics Jim Beuerle were selected to participate in the College Board’s Annual AP Statistics Reading held in June. 

“Constitutional Law: Cases in Context,” coauthored Georgetown Law Center Professor Randy E. Barnett and Elon Law Professor Howard E. Katz was published by Wolters Kluwer in June.

In an article published by the Cleveland State Law Review, Elon Law Professor Tom Molony explores whether false or misleading advertisements primarily directed to consumers qualify as securities fraud. 

Tammy Cobb '87, assistant director for community partnerships in the Kernodle Center for Service Learning and Community Engagement, begins her work in July.

Associate Professor Anthony Hatcher published a biographical essay on crime noir author James Ross, a critically acclaimed but little known North Carolina writer who attended Elon for a year in the 1930s.

Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and Associate Professor of Law Andy Haile questions divergent standards applied to sales and corporate income taxes in his most recent scholarship. 

The assistant district attorney for Durham County will begin in August and will also teach in Elon's School of Communications.
