Samantha DiRosa, associate professor of digital art and environmental studies, recently presented on her CATL scholar research at the Association for Contemplative Mind in Higher Education regional conference in Whidbey Island, Wash.

Ethan Moore, Coordinator for Elon's Collections and Instructor in General Studies, will have an article entitled "From Sikwa to Swine: The Hog in Cherokee Culture and Society, 1750-1840" published in the upcoming issue of the journal Native South.

Julie Lellis, an assistant professor in the School of Communications, will serve as a founding editorial board member of Case Studies in Strategic Communication, an online peer-reviewed publication that will publish manuscripts that explain strategic communication strategies through the investigation of case studies.

A $1.2 million grant from the National Science Foundation will bolster the number of math and science teachers Elon University graduates in the years ahead through a partnership with the Alamance-Burlington School System.

Tony Crider, associate professor of physics, is always searching for creative ways to engage students with course material. To help his astronomy students learn about planetary science and the classification of the former planet Pluto, he created a science game called “The Pluto Debate.”

When Elon’s economics department began requiring all seniors to complete a written thesis, Greg Lilly, associate professor of economics, noticed an interesting trend. “One of the things we noticed fairly early was that there seemed to be this spread in performances, and it seems to be a spread we can’t get rid of,” he said.
