Two Elon students who had been enrolled in the university’s study abroad program in Seville, Spain, are continuing to engage in international service virtually after their experience was cut short in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Garner is one of two recipients for the competitive, national award, and the first Elon University student to receive it.

Led by the History and Geography Department, the written and recorded submissions of students, faculty and staff will be preserved for future historians and Elon's records.

Elon undergraduates and faculty advisors will collaborate to edit and publish the Pi Sigma Alpha Undergraduate Journal of Politics beginning Fall 2020. Pi Sigma Alpha is the national political science honor society, comprised of more than 800 chapters at universities across America.

International students who remain at Elon have adjusted to life during COVID-19 with the support of family, friends and the university community.

The French and international and global studies double major works with the International Organization for Migration in Burundi, a U.N. agency that supports migrants of all kinds. In the face of COVID-19, her duties have shifted to crisis communication and response in the East African nation.

A generous gift from Joan and Sam Nevin P’22 will make transformational opportunities possible for students while aiding Elon’s recruitment efforts. This gift is counted as part of the Elon LEADS Campaign.

Through a winter International Business course, MBA students learned about the economic, legal, political and cultural environment of doing business in Vietnam and Singapore.

Lumen Scholar Caroline Enright '20, with Associate Professor of Education Stephen Byrd as her mentor, is researching laws and methods for providing inclusivity for students with disabilities in the Uganda education system.

Faculty members Rich Landesberg and Mark Dalhouse led Elon students to Des Moines, Iowa, where they were introduced to the culture of media and politics just days before the Iowa Democratic caucuses.
