Addison delivered the Campus Sustainability Week keynote address Tuesday, Oct. 15, in McKinnon Hall.

The university was recognized for standing out within a pool of nearly 600 schools for its sustainability-related policies, practices and programs.

The Office of Sustainability will host numerous events Oct. 14-18 to bring awareness to and inspire sustainable behavior change throughout campus.

Attorney and author Corban Addison will shine a light on the intersection of food, race and money as he takes his audience behind the scenes of a landmark war in the courtroom that brought the once invincible pork industry to its knees. 

The home designed and built by students, one of six constructed in the EcoVillage at Loy Farm’s first phase, involved more than 60 students over the course of an academic year and yielded lessons students will carry into their futures.

In June, Kirsten Carrier, assistant dean of campus life and director of residence life, presented at the Campus Home. LIVE! conference in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, hosted by the Association of College and University Housing Officers - International (ACUHO-I).

Elon is undertaking a range of construction projects this summer that will enhance the student experience and upgrade academic spaces.

Kelly Harer, associate director of sustainability for education and outreach, completed a facilitator training to bring the program to Elon.

More than 50 unique, creative, and innovative student projects were showcased during the 5th annual Maker Takeover, the Maker Hub’s largest celebration.
