Elaine Durr, director of sustainability, has earned the Certified Sustainability Professional designation through the International Society of Sustainability Professionals (ISSP-CSP).

This spring semester regular sustainability tours will be offered at the Elon Environmental Center at Loy Farm and on main campus. 

Paper, glass, aluminum and plastics can now be placed in the same recycling bins around the Elon University campus.

Students can apply to live in a Learning Community from Jan. 8 – Feb. 8.

The Office of Sustainability offers programs and resources for students, faculty and staff who want to make a positive impact on the environment by changing behaviors, conducting research and educating peers about the way human activities affect the planet.

The newest cohort of scholars will participate in a program that helps Elon University faculty integrate sustainability into an existing course.

The university has received a STARS Silver rating from the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education.

Greenhouse gas emissions per square foot of building space have decreased since 2008 while overall emissions have risen.
